Hi all,
I'm trying to print a mailmerge document, A5 size, onto a single sheet of A4, so that each half of the A4 page has 2 A5 documents on it, but with different mailmerge results (not fields).
I'm struggling because I'm so close, but I cannot get the same document on 1 sheet of paper, with 2 different names from the merge database.
I'll try draw a graphic to explain:
A4 sheet, horizontally, which is 2 x A5 sheets portrait (which is what I want).
--------------------------------| | | | | Name 1 | Name 2 | | | | | | | --------------------------------|
So, I set up imposition to repeating, print 2 across 1 down, no horizontal or vertical gap. That works. I have defined the Text variables correctly and inserted variable text into the document and PGS finds the database. This is a simple one at the moment, just to test. It conists of 1 filed (name) and ends with carriage return. There is no header field, it that makes a difference.
The merge sort of works. It misses the 1st, 3rd & so on names, but prints 2 of the 2nd (on the same page), then 2 of the 4th (on the next page). Instead of getting Name 1, Name 2 as the above graphic, I get Name 2, Name 2 on 1 sheet, Name 4, Name 4 on the next sheet.
I've tried on Amiga using PGS4, and on Windows using PGS 5, but the same result on both systems (& different printers too).
Any help gratefully received
Bye for now,
Russell
