Hi,

Though I don't use PageStream regularily I still like it since my old
Amiga times. I now have a Mac with OS X Lion and the known problems with
copy'n'paste. Also PageStream doesn't feel very Mac like.

I miss the infos from Deron about how development is doing these days.

Since I use InDesign at work I might switch to it at home, too.
Currently checking the offers on CS3 at eBay with update to CS6.

Hope the grashopper's still jumpin'...

I don't mind relaying things Deron has said when it is already out there, but I hesitate when it isn't. That said, he *is* alive and kicking and PgS *is* still being worked on. That last implies a new release, but I don't know when that'll be, or if it will fix the issues in Lion.

If you feel the need jump to InDesign, I'm sure it is a reasonable application. I have it as part of the suite (due to an educational pricing bundle it was cheaper to buy Illustrator that way than own its own so I have a couple of Adobe applications I wouldn't otherwise own), but I'm not sure I ever used it. I must say, I was surprised to discover that PgS's structured drawing tools are more accurate than Illustrator's (talking about precision of placing nodes and control handles). OTOH, Illustrator does a knock up job of tracing…

PgS has its issues (I recently grumbled to Deron about a style behavior) and for some they're bigger than others. The lack of cut & paste is annoying, but for me its easy enough to work around -- I just end up with a few more files on the hard drive than I would otherwise (screenshots for user documentation, most recently).

Since my mac is a laptop what has been most helpful to me recently is the 'top bar' option in the preferences. If you didn't already know about it you might want to check it out. Mostly it helps avoid invoking the dock if you have left it on the bottom of the screen so changing pages works better (though I really wish you could two-finger swipe between them, that'd be even better).

I'm not sure why people keep acting like I'm dead. Just busy. You would
think that would be a good thing. I post on this site, but if someone
asks a question, someone else answers it correctly, I don't feel the
need to repeat what has already been said.

The problem with downloading was posted, and as soon as I had it fixed,
I posted a response. It wasn't my ghost that did that Smile

I think you spoiled us over the years after whatishisname left and no longer represented on the list. Not too many applications you get to talk to the programmer directly…

…so, any word on fixes for OS X Lion (admitting up front that it sucks all the application vendors get blamed when Apple changes things and it breaks previously working apps). How about gesture support? (needle, needle, needle) Smile

Good to hear/read. Looking forward to the results of you being busy Smile
