Has there been any incompatibility issues with PageStream and Cyerlink running on Windows 8.1?

Since I installed the program, PageStream has been unusable on my machine when it is operating under 8.1. When I use Pagestream when I boot up in XP, PageStream works just fine.

I can load them, but I cannot make changes to created pages. I cannot make any new windows to type in... the box does not create. I can't create anything even using layout templates. The text will not "type" in.

I've had the same problem in the past with XP, and had to totally reinstall XP to do it. And created a duel-startup system... each on a different hard drive. I should have plenty of memory in 8.1, because I have 12 gigs in the system.

Sounds like a permission problem on windows 8. Check the status if the files you are trying to edit.
Are they located in a directory previously created under windows xp? is the windows 8 install added to the system?

Gil, like  admfubar said.
You can install PGS anywhere on any disk. I would not install it in the Programs directory, maybe not even on the C-disk (permission problems).
For now you can leave the PGS there. But install (exactly: place)  PGS now on, for instance, the D-disk. And start PGS from there (double click on PageStream5.exe), and see what it does.

I don't know... Sad

How do I check the the status of the files? Not really familiar, yet, with Windows 8... to be honest.

The directory they were in was created in XP. What do I do? Most of my folders and partitions were created in XP, or maybe earlier, really not sure. Definitely, probably?, not created with Windows 8... they are external files on different partitions.

And, thanks!

Now, what do I do?

Sad

Ok pretty sure that it is a permissions problem.
Have you tried "installing" it on windows 8? should be much the same for an xp install.
try placing it in your user directory in windows 8
