Thank you to all for support.

I know Ghostscript, I used it on Amiga, Linux and even on Mac, but when I use pdf documents they have to appear the same as the original.
My workflow is (or it is better to say “should be”): some people send me pdf, doc, docx documents, I put them together adding graphics and some change in the layout.
Then I save as pdf my document and resend it to people who sent me their pieces.
And finally the document is printed on paper by a big printer in thousandth (maybe 3000 or more, I don’t know exactly) of copies.

Actually I use a workaround to avoid waste of time and headaches: I save pdf pages that people sent (that will not be modified) as jpeg low resolution and use them only for preview.
After the document is saved as pdf, I replace fake pdf pages with original pdf pages using Preview (Apple’s default document viewer) and re-save the document as pdf.

The evident limitation of that procedure, is that I can’t edit original pdf pieces from the original page layout.
If I would modify the pdfs’ layout I have to export as jpeg high resolution e modify them as bitmap. And use them as big images generating a final bigger pdf file.

Hoping someone makes Pagestream better...

Hello Giovanni,

I found that PageStream PDF/SVG/AI import is much better if I recreate the
PDF with GhostScript.
Try to open the file in GhostScript and create an output with the PDF
printer driver of GS.

The generated PDF will be more comaptible with PageStream.

I am using this to import newer AI files, PDFs.

On Amiga OS 4 there is an AmiGS gui for Ghostscript, other platforms I
don't know.

Bye!
