Using Windows 7 home edition; PageStream 5.0.5.8 Pro

Recently had to reinstall Windows.  Reinstalled PageStream.  I can access and print old files, but cannot create new documents.

I have a file with numerous graphics I created.  It will recognize the entire graphic, but not the individual parts. If I "select all" it will recognize the parts but I can't move them.

I also cannot enter text or edit text in old documents.

I suspect something happened on the reinstallation, but I have no idea what.

I would first shut your computer down and restart it. Your details below
give all kinds of bizarre symptoms that just doesn't sound like anything
I've heard before.

If that doesn't solve your problem, then lets tackle this with a little
more details. For example, what happens when you try and create a new
document. What step you took like select New Document, and what happens
like it crashes or ??

You can extract PGS anywhere on your system. Preferably not in your c-harddisk (administration problems).
You can execute PGS from the exe-file. Fill in your personals, and there you go.

But to get the most of PGS you should also install Python 2.# (not 3!).

Oh, and you can have multiple copy's of PGS anywhere on all your harddisks (only one of them can be executed).
So, extract a 'new copy' of PGS on your data-disk, and execute it from there. See what happens.

All your copy's of PGS use the same ini-file (on your c-disk: http://www.pagestream.org/?action=Documents&id=82<C/p>).
I use PGS 5.0.5.8, and sometimes, PGS 5.0.5.7.

Thanks Theo

I'll try re-installing.  My copy of PgS is on a flash drive so I also don't know if something is missing from the original download.

I think Yahoo things everything is span.  My original post didn't show up in the conversation window and I had to dig around to find your reply.

Deron made it possible to read my mails again. Thanks Deron!

Hi Don,
if you have downloaded it from PageStream.com, then everything is there (except for Python 2.#).
I never used a flashdrive to install or execute PGS from. But I don't see anything why your PGS won't work.
The only thing, for what I see, is that Pagestream5.ini ( http://www.pagestream.org/?action=Documents&id=82<c/p>) does sometimes strange things for the working of PGS. Then, just delete Pagestream5.ini (or rename it) and start anew.

Theo - still on Windows 7 and PGS 5.0.5.8 (and sometimes 5.0.5.7): PGS is still a great program! (I'm not sure, but I use PGS for 30 years - from 1985 (Amiga 1000 - give or take a year)

I just got back to playing with PgS and discovered my original problem -- It had only partially installed on the hard drive and the program kept looking for my flash drive.

Now I have another problem.  The installer won't accept the key number.  Says it's invalid.  Now what?

Strange Don, that you or your computer managed to partially install PGS. ;-)

Ok, about he other challenge. I guess you have filled in the older key numbers: Activation (for early PGS-versions and early PGS 5 versions).

First, you need to log in at: http://www.pagestream.org in the tab Account.
Then go to tab Account and My Profile (http://www.pagestream.org/?action=Profile).

In the screen you now get you find My Registrations, and there you find
Product          Version Registration Activation Product Key

PageStream Pro Windows 5.0 ###### ######### ####-####-####-####-####

You need the Registration number, and the Product Key (and not the Activation!).

Good luck Don,

Theo - BTW it took a day for your mail to arrive in Yahoo
