I upgraded to the free Win10 over the weekend. Just went to work on a time critical document and PageStream won't start. It's giving me an "application was unable to start correctly (0xc0000005). Click to close.." error. This is pagestream 5.0.5.8. My older pgs 5.04 does start, but all the settings (at least the fonts) are so off that it wasn't such that I figure I can easily substitute it (I know, I'll probably still face having to add fonts back in if I get 5.0.5.8 back up). Trying to debug, I temporarily renamed the .dll files in the pagestream drawer and tried starting PgS 5.0.5.8. Adding back in the softlogik libraries (gives missing <softlogik###>.dll message) until I hit the 0xC0....5 msg. It takes me up through SoftlogikOS.dll before giving the C..5 error. There is a SoftlogikRsrc.dll and some other .dll''s like freetype, jpeg, etc but those might be holdovers from earilier versions as they have an earlier date. Anyone have any ideas to help. (I have rebooted, started pgs first, etc.). I also copied the pagestream5.0.5.8 drawer and unzipped the original arhive into it, same thing... Always with Christ, Dave Ruf. |

Dave, I had the same issues after a windows update. Not sure what happened, but I reinstalled Pagestream and renamed the old pagestream.ini file and created a new one. That fixed my issue. It's usually located in C:\users\YOURUSERNAME\AppData\Roaming\Pagestream5 Since you are using a new ini file, you have
to tell Pagestream where the fonts are located, usually C:\windows\fonts.
I also run Pagestream as an administrator just to be safe.

I just wonder if PageStream has been abandoned by Deron. :( It's a great piece of software that I really love. I hope someday Deron or someone continues to develop it since I too have problems with Windows 10, even with Windows 7 compatibility option. Regards Ezekiel
