The hopeful thing is that several people on this list have PageSTream
working perfectly well under Windows 10.
I do not, and the question is "why ?".

I am happy to believe that it does not need to be in"Program Files (x86)".
It is actually in "C:\Users\T M N
Irish\Documents\PageSTream5.0.5.8\PageStream5.exe".

It occurred to me yesterday that it might be the trackpad on this laptop,
so I got a Logitech wireless mouse and USB transmitter
which we used to use on our Windows XP machine down from the loft
but that made no difference to PageSTream.

Is it to do with way I am running the program ?
I am running it in compatibility mode for "Windows XP (Service Pack 3)",
"Disable display scaling on high DPI settings" -- though I do not know
what that actually means,
and "Run this program as an administator".

The machine is a Dell laptop running Windows 10 Pro.
According to Control Panel, System
Processor: Intel(R) Core(TM)i7-2720QM CPU @ 2020GHz 2.20 GHz
Installed memory (RAM): 16.0 GB
System type: 64-bit Operating System, x64-based procesor

The screen resolution is 1920 x 1080 (Recommended).

The C: drive is on a Samsung SSD 850 PRO 1TB using 336.37 GB of 843.73 GB.

I shall be very grateful if someone can figure out what might be
significantly damaging to PageSTream in that lot or anything else for
that matter.

As far as I am aware, all the other programs I used under Windows 7 Ultimate
work perfectly well under Windows 10 Pro. PageSTream is the exception.

Hi Michael,

I extracted PGS on the D-drive, and start it from there (double-click). That's all.
No compatibility mode, or whatever.

Theo - of course Windows 10 (not the latest version, because it thinks it is the latest version)

I have used only Amiga, Linux, and Mac versions of PGS, but when I was
an IT tech, I seem to remember that some apps on Windows machines
sometimes had problems with spaces in the path. Maybe you could try
moving the "C:\Users\T M N Irish\Documents\PageSTream5.0.5.8" folder to
c:\pgs or something similar...

Hi Michael,

I don't know if you have been able to solve your loading problems.

I use W10 Pro, I have had problems with Windows installs of PageStream
before, its ok at present and is working right now Smile.

My Path is set to: C:\Program Files (x86)\PageStream\

You need make sure that you set things right in Prefs: Folders, Editors
etc so the PGS can find what it needs when looks for them, It needs to be
set right when the first install begins etc

The only problem I have at present is: Trying to print through the
network, From this PC to PC which has the usb connection to TX300
printer,( no go) I have to reload the file to the other PC PGS and print
from there Sad
