Hello!

I tested the actual beta for AmigaOS on a clean MorphOS 2.4 - Install, and I
was surprised, how nice it works compared to the last betas for AmigaOS. I
was able to change several prefs, add my fonts folder to the program, and
get opened a new document, where I typed some text. But the PDF output
doesnt work on MorphOS (also not on Ghostscript), and changing some box
attributes like patterns freezes the program.

So, when will there be the next beta compiled for MorphOS? Thanks for good
work!

Boris

Smile

One thing I forgot to add to the readme was that the font button
_should_ work not (like in the edit palette,or Type attributes
requester). The trick is you have to right click on it right now (I
haven't gotten around to find out if I can popup a menu with a left
click with MUI).

Most likely these will be problems for all or many users. In general,
the only disadvantage to running the 68k version on MOS or OS4/A1 etc
will be the speed.

I've created PDF with the Amiga version and they display in Acrobat. As
reported by another user (maybe it was private) not all Amiga PDF
viewers are created equal. PageStream uses a fairly recent PDF standard
and not all viewers will display these PDF files. That is a bit of a
disadvantage for the Amiga, as it has several old PDF viewers, but I
can't really cripple the PDF output for those apps. Now if your problem
was something else, let me know!

I'll check the box attributes. No, they worked. The pattern dialog is a
little odd. Clicking anywhere in the dialog acts like you are clicking
in the predefined patterns so when you click on OK it first selects the
left most displayed predefined dialog. If you scroll the patterns, you
can "pick" a diffferent one. A bug for sure, but it didn't crash. Maybe
you tried something else? I even tried a gradient patterned fill and it
displayed properly.

Thanks for the report!

Soon? I'm trying to get the base Amiga code stabilized, and since
everyone can use the 68k version that seems like the best place to work.

You might be thinking of the remark I made Tuesday:

~/Documents/TestDocument.pgs comes out with fonts all "Artistic" for
example.

I successfully saved that document as PDF and printed it PostScript,
although AmiPDF complains a lot and then refuses to display any
fonts--AmiGS reads the PDF file just fine.

That would be the one! It is all starting to blur together Smile
