You should be able to now. The Linux version uses the _exact_ same file format as the other 3 platforms, so documents are not "imported" but just opened (depends on your definition of imported I suppose, but the action is the same on all the platforms).
The only caveat is if you open a document that uses fonts which are not available on your system. THat is what font substitution is for. This is of course a concern even on the same platform as the original document, or even a system which has had fonts removed from it.
