G´day

Some more observations.

You can click in a text frame anywhere with the object tool and the frame will
be selected. However if you give the text frame a stroke then you can´t
select it unless you click on the stroked frame. Bit of a nuisance.

When you select anything and go to the menu and click, the selection becomes
(visibly) deselected.

If you select some text and go to the menu and do type > choose >(select font)
the new font won´t be applied. It will if you directly select the font from
the list per type > (select font)

I am accustomed to inserting frequently used special characters using the
Ctrl-C method (eg Ctrl-C n- for an En dash, Ctrl-C co for the copyright
character etc) as that´s easier to remember than the Ctrl-D nnnn method. When
I discovered the Ctrl-C method was not implemented I thought I´d use the
Ctrl-D method as I needed to insert a lot of En dashes but it doesn´t work
either. It inserts the number instead of the character.

Enough for now, it´s after midnight and I should be in bed.
