Hi all,

I downloaded and "installed" the .12 version last night/this morning. I have
just been "playing" and discovered a few little things, some of which may
already be known (if so apologies).

First I selected the "Scallop Box Tool" and drew a landscape shaped box. Line
and fill gave me only the choice of black and white for colours. Yes I did
find I could "append" the colour file provided, but question why that step is
necessary. I would have thought it would have automatically done that to the
"default" file.

I then drew an oval and aligned the two objects centrally. A little fault
shows there. You have to actually mouse click on the selection, ie 2 and 5,
whereas I am used to just hitting keys "a 2 5" in sequence (in Amiga
version).

While both objects still selected for alignment I did a "merge paths" so I now
have an object with a "hole" in it. Now I did a rotate 90 degrees so it is
now in portrait mode.

Do a place graphic to get a photo on the page and crop it.

I found I could not move either the box with the hole in it nor the cropped
photo.

I was able to use the align function to align them centrally and use the stack
> move to back to place the photo behind the hole so it was nicely framed.
I "marqueed" the lot and did "group" but still could not move the object from
its location.

I just had a thought and tried it. If I select Object > move from the menu I
can enter new co-ordinates in the text entry field and the object will move.
Another thought occurred to me, what about the alignment and yes it will move
if you use align (I did 2 5 and it centralised on the page).
It seems it is ignoring mouse and arrow keys for moving.

Nothing "end of the world" there but niggly problems that need fixing --
sometime.

Not to be seen to be answering myself but ....

I continued to "play" on the same document page doing various things with the
object tools (eg drew 3 circles) overlapping objects, various fill
combinations, merging paths and undoing, grouping, rotating/distorting,
resizing etc. I did this with several different objects even trying to
reproduce the "stuck" situation described above. Several times I attempted
to move the stuck object but it wouldn't budge. Then after a bit more
fiddling with the other objects and moving them around I tried the "stuck"
object and lo and behold it moved. I could move it with the mouse and the
arrow keys. All up very strange behaviour.
