1> By some quirk, about two upgrades ago, I ran PageStreamPro from the shell.
Since that time when I select Help from PageStream it brings up the help in
NVu--an html EDITOR, not Konqueror. Is there any way in PageStream to change
this, or is it totally a KDE thing? I have spent several months trying to
find a way to "cure" this problem in KDE and PgS. NVu only allows editing,
not navigation. I have to manually bring up Konqueror and go to the Help
files.

2> I love PageStream! So to do some colored circles, I went to PgS. Then I
got the bright idea of doing the background square (combining a circle and a
square) in color, rather than filling with Gimp. See the effect at
http://JustForSomeone.com/ . There is a white border. So I decided to put a
3 pt line around the square in the desired color. The white border remained.
So I made the square larger. The white border remained. Is there a way to
eliminate the white border when exporting a graphic?

3> When exporting a graphic, the user permissions are rwx with no other
permissions. I question the user x and if security is not an issue, it might
be nice to set the other 2 permissions at read. This is necessary for the
internet, but might be a problem otherwise. They can be manually set for the
internet.

Again, I appreciate the wonderful program you have built!

I believe that would be a gnome/kde thing. It might be that somehow you got
NVu invoked and it helpfully altered a gnome setting? Certainly I've seen
windows apps that do that.

Just going by your description, you're saying that a graphic created in PgS
has transparent/empty sections that, when you export as a bitmap graphic
become white.

If that is the case then I only know of one way (haven't done it myself),
which is to export as IFF. There is no PNG export module and no timeline for
one, but that would be the ideal case (PNG provides for a whole alpha
channel).

Default permissions on file creation -- I doubt PgS is forcing them to any
setting though it might be (I've never checked for or tested this). However,
I'm reasonably certain that there is a global user setting for this. (I know
for a fact that there are default file permissions with, say, Samba, etc.,
but I seem to recall a regular user login also have a permission mask.)

I don't specify the program used to open the html help files. It would be a
configuration in whatever desktop you are using. Take a look using google
at gnome and gnome_help_display_uri (the actual call I use to display the
file).

You would need to simply load the file into BME or another image editor and
crop that out. I'll put it on the wishlist, but with alpha blending and
antialiasing, doing pixel accurate bounding is very complex.

Hmm. I don't control this either, and I would not be comfortable writing
world readable files without the user asking for it. I am not expert in
this field. What do other applications do in this regard?
