Hello, today I have installed PageStream5.0.4.31.x86 and F10 key does
not work for screen refresh.
To refresh the view, I have to move a little the page with the middle
mouse button.

I also have printing problems: Pagestream often closes during print
operations both to EPS file and to printer.
"Save as pdf" requests the file name, but nothing is generated in
output.
Actually I have not yet localized the conditions in which that occurs
(Fonts? Graphics?).

Regards
Giovanni Bianchessi

Looks like PageStream is not picking up the default scripts. Just load
them by hand and resave default scripts. Or wait for next release?

Ok,
looks like there is an easy fix. Move the folder
{pgsfolder}/SoftLogik/Defaults to {pgsfolder}/Defaults. The archive is
simply wrong. Moved the folder fixed it for me.

I'll need more details then that. I can print and create PDF files
without crashing. Considering the usual feedback, a specific font is
more likely to be the problem then graphics unless you have some really
big or unusual picture.

That fixed it for me.

Works ok for me.

I still have the crash when undoing a paste and the page still starts
way offcentered so I have to use the quick fix: Mouse wheel left Wink

All this is for the new 5.0.4.31.

I fixed it here. What are you pasting? How?

I never could reproduce this. Could you send your pref file
(~/.PageStream5/PageStream5.prefs) to me at support@pagestream.org. I'm
just wondering if you have something funny set in your pref file? That
is all I can think off or something with initial view scale.

Thanks for the report. Hopefully it is better otherwise.

Thank you for "quick-fix". Now F10 key works.

I have tested the PDF generation only: it is created a file containing
an empty page.
I composed a new page with a text box and with rectangle around it.

I have a dubt: Should I delete the ./Pagestream folder before upgrade?

First, try _no_ text. Technically speaking, 3 words or 3000 words is the
same level of complexity. A font still has to be built, encoded,
embedded and rendered. A simple box and nothing else is the first step.

Also, what PDF viewer are you using? Have you tried another?

No, not necessary.

Yes, sure.

I used Adobe Reader and the default Ubuntu viewer (now I don't remember
the name)
