Hello,
I thank you for the new version of Pagestream.
Many problems are solved but I have a crash saving as pdf.
The saving starts, but almost immediatly Pagestream crashes with this:

Hello,

Since I can't reproduce this problem, I can only assume that it has
something to do with the document you are trying to save as a PDF. The
crash is in freeing a loaded bitmap. Are you using the new reduce
picture feature, or external graphics, or ??? Can you reproduce this
problem with other documents?

No, it has not.
I have loaded previous documents made and saved by version 5.0.4.34 and
the problem is the same. It starts to save as pdf then crashes.

Loading all the documents that fail with 5.0.4.39, in PageStream
5.0.4.34, "save as pdf" works.

I used and I have not used "reduce picture" and I have tryied to change
compression, but nothing changes.
I use many pictures in document, all of them external.

No, it is not. I have the same problem. Saving PDFs crash in
5.0.4.39. The same worked fine with the same documents in 5.0.4.34. All
images in my document are internal. It crashes when I disable "Display
Documents Outline". It does not crash when I leave it enabled.

There's another problem with the "Display Documents Outline" option.
When I leave the dialog with this option disabled and enter the dialog
again, it appears ghosted and I can't reenable it. The sub-options are
not affected.

Found and fixed. This was a problem introduced with the new reduce
bitmap in the compression panel and could happen anytime saving a PDF
with a bitmap that _doesn't_ get reduced.

Fixed. As previously reported, this was with any bitmap that was not
reduced in size.

I'm not sure if this is a bug, or just coincidence with regards to
bitmaps. I could not reproduce a crash.

Fixed. The suboptions were the ones that were supposed to be disabled
Thanks for the reminder. I had seen this before while doing
something else but forgot to make note of it.

In light of the seriousness of the Save as PDF bug, i will probably
release an update as soon as I get the Windows version up.

Thank you very much. Getting bugs fixed quickly is highly appreciated,
but I'm not in the slightest hurry. I purchased PageStream for
producing brochures for an upcoming fair. I've got the printed results,
they are quite satisfactory (being a technician, I'm not good at
designing attractive documents) and the workflow was good. It's fun
to use PageStream again, especially under Linux, where the contenders
are programs like Scribus, which is, frankly, unusable.

Feature-wise, the highest priority would be EPS support in the PDF
generator, as I disregard placing bitmaps where vector graphics belong.
Generally, stability has precedence over features, but I'm also happy
to observe the development process by using Betas with interesting
new functions. Keep on the good work.
