I see that patterned lines and shapes (line tab settings -> 45 degrees
lines, i.e.) are not rendered in pdf (Save as pdf)

They are rendered as plain lines. On the screen they appears all right.
And pattern-filled shapes are all right too both on screen and in pdf
file.
