Aaarrgh! Laying out a page with the first paragraph format drop cap, the others body text style. Import another few paragraphs (plain-text, generated from OCR).
Comes in as drop cap style. Highlight paragraph, select paragraph format, switch from drop cap to plain, click OK. No change to the paragraph format, still drop cap.
Go to Edit Palette, select No Style from paragraph drop down menu. No change to the paragraph format, still drop cap.
Go to Type Paragraph Style, select No style. No change to the paragraph format, still drop cap.
Back space over the drop cap, until the new paragraph is joined to the previous paragraph. Put cursor at start of desired new paragraph, press return. Guess what? New paragraph style is drop cap.
Stop it! Stop it! Stop it! I don't want drop cap! Die! Die! Die!
Just a tad frustrated here.

I had similar issues with unwanted styles sticking. solution; i had to bring all the test in at once then apply the desired formatting.
a pain in the butt to do but it was the simplest way to get around this style bug.
