First question, are you sure that it's PageStream that is causing this
problem? Have you tried producing something similar from KOffice or
OpenOffice to see if the result is the same? Maybe print out as
postscript then convert to pdf from another program? If could be
something about opensuse rather than the program, but only further
testing can completely resolve that.
