I just upgraded to Debian 6.0 Squeeze (Note to others doing that: beware of Grub2! It rendered my system unbootable, until I removed it and went back to grub legacy, as it is now called). Now printing from PageStream 5.0.5.8 Pro has ceased:

1. Pull up a document.
2. Print it as usual (in this case, to a HP Color LaserJet PostScript, attached via ethernet). Print progress window opens, bar fills up, then closes. Input light on the printer flashes a few times, then... nuttin'.
3. CUPS indicates that the printer is idle and accepting jobs.
4. Old "workaround" of saving document as PDF, then printing from Adobe Acrobat works fine.
5. Other printing programs, such as OpenOffice, print fine. Just printing from PageStream is a no-go.

I don't whether it's related, but I have the same result printing from MEPIS
8.0 (version of Debian). but it only happens if the page has linked text
frames, or multi column text frames. Otherwise it prints.
Launching the program from a command line, I get a message that mentiones the
font in the text frame, but happens with every font.

Hello Nick,

Are you running 32 or 64bit PageStream, and are you using 32 or 64bit
Debian?

I know a few have had problems printing with the 64bit version of
PageStream (no surprise, considering everything) and certainly a tricky
setup to run 32bit PageStream on a 64bit install.

Do you get any print time messages to the shell if you run PageStream
from the shell?

Also, can you print a postscript file to disk (you set that in Print Setup)?

I am running Ubuntu 10.10 32 bit HP CP 2025 with Duplex, HP postscript
Drivers, I hit print in Pagestream and it appears to start, HP loga shows up
on screen, Printer just sits quietly

Now Pagestream is Crashing when I go to Print Set up either from File menu
or From Print requester

PDF's work great

I use Ubuntu 10.10 32 bit too.
(On iMac Core i5: Linux 32 bit on 64bit machine))

I cannot print straigth to the printer (HP990 USB HP drivers)

The output printed on the paper is:

ERROR:: invalidaccess
OFFENDING COMMAND: put

STACK:

/z
122
[/.notdef /.notdef .....

etc.

PDF export from Pagestream and printing by PDF printer is all right.
Other programs (i.e. Adobe Reader and OpenOffice) print without
problems.

Here I have to make a correction to myself:
printing by PDF printer not always works.
If, in Pagestream I load from disk a printer configuration and I don't
touch nothing, I obtain the pdf file in the PDF folder.
If I press some button, often, it does not work.

Actually there are double tabs in printing panel.
Only those in the most right side of the panel work.

Sounds like a font problem. Can you try printing just a box? Then try
just "hello" in a common font.

This works.
But, I cannot print all my documents.
I have also changed font (I tried Arial), but does not work.
Sometimes, when I try to print to printer, Pagestream crashes.
When I load a printer preset, the ppd is not correct. It seems to load a
default ppd.
