How do you go back to Windows without shutting down Gemulator and
Pagestream?

I don't know about Gemulator, but I can switch between Windows and WinUAE(Amiga
emulations) with the ALT-TAB.

Gemulator is just a Windows window. So,

If you run it at less than full resolution you see the Windows desktop and can
access it by switching to the Windows cursor. That is why I do not chose the
Full Screen option under my Gemulator setup. By chosing the resolution at
boot-up I can get the size window I want, to work in that session.

In any case, when you get the Windows cursor by hitting F11 or by doing a
simultaneous click of both mouse buttons you have access to the Windows
functions. When you move that cursor to the border where your windows pop-up
menu is (assuming you have it disappear when not in use) then you can activate
all the functions, including closing and diminishing and maximizing Gemulator.
One exception here, the version of Gemulator I am running 7a, has a bug that
prevents maximizing after diminishing. That supposedly has been fixed, but I
have not been able to find the fixed version on the Emulator site. In all the
previous versions the diminish and maximize functions work perfectly.

The only compatibility problem I have had, though I chose printer sharing in my
Gemulator setup, my Windows programs can't get access to my printer when
Gemulator is running.

One gimmick I have just started to use: Microsoft Office (at least the old
version I run) has the option of leaving a special icon menu on the desktop for
quick access to the Office programs. In the Office setup one can choose to have
that icon menu show even when another program is running --obnoxious Mcrosoft
trick. I discovered that if I chose that feature I could nestle the Office menu
right under my Pagestream 2.2 palette menu on the right side of the screen. With
a click of both mouse buttons I have the Windows mouse and then a single click
gets me to Microsoft Word. The cut-and-paste from Word to Pagestream or back
does not work, but I save to a text file which I load into Pagestream after I
diminish Word and switch cursors.

A final note: The reason I tolerate the maximize-bug in my present version of
Gemulator, is the nice "Hibernate and Exit" function now in the File menu when
you have the Gemulator 2000 box on screen (the one that has a "continue" button
on the bottom). That allows me to exit Pagestream and Gemulator and return to
them later in the exact state I left them. It makes for a slow boot-up of
Gemulator but that is time for a cup of coffee anyway.

For those running (or interested in running) Pagestream in Windows using the
Gemulator emulator there is a May 17 zip file at the Gemulator site
(www.emulators.com) which contains a May 5 version of the software. Among other
things that don't concern me this update fixes the one bug that had been bugging
me, the Gemulator window now restores properly after it has been minimized. The
only remaining glitch in my setup is that the Share Printer option does not
automatically release the printer port to Windows' programs as it is apparently
supposed to, so I do that manually under the Options menu. Until I get together
with Pagestream for Windows Pagestream 2.2 under Gemulator in Windows 95 is a
great setup for me.

An emulator for Windows machines that allows one to run the PC as an Atari or a
Mac. It is purchasable from Eumlators.com. There is a software only option using
the Magic operating system, but mine is a card in a PC-slot with Atari 2.6 ROMs
installed on the card. With this setup I have been running Pagestream on my
Windows95 machine for a couple of years.
