Well Wayne, when I got that message it really confused me (still does), as
it had actually briefly opened the PageStream Window and then quickly closed
it. My ownly guess (since it's working on your old machine, but not the new
one) is to check out all the CMOS BIOS settings on each machine, and see
what may be different.

Dave,

Again, thanks for your thoughts ... I have had a look at the BIOS settings
for each computer ... the old Compaq has a "PhoenixBios" setup, and my new
one has an "AwardBios" setup based around an Asustek P3B-F motherboard. To
my untrained eyes, they seem vastly different ... very few of the
sub-headings matched, but where they did the settings were the same. I
tried downloading the latest BIOS from Asustek, installing that, and
resetting to the defaults ... again, I could not get PS to launch ... I have
it going on the old computer, so I am able to look at the latest beta there.
I think it will be easiest to wait until Deron releases a further beta, and
see if my current problem is somehow corrected, before sending my machine
for professional help. I have had no problems loading any other software,
so I would like to believe this fault is arising from a programming
misadventure at this point, rather than something on my machine. Thanks
again!

Wayne.
