Can anyone tell me what the occasional flashing scroll bars signify and how
to deal with them.
I am often frustrated in what I want to do only to find the scroll bars
flashing which seem to be the cause of my frustration.

Also the fills do not work. Neither on the screen or the printer.
The printout is only 80% in size. Asking for a 120% printout works
partially but often the objects lose their relationship with one another,

My printer is a Canon BJC6500 inkjet but the printout is substantially the
same on my Canon BJC620. Too small!

Any comments welcome.

I don't know their purpose either. They do become annoying quickly.

If your printout is about 80% in size, you would need to scale it to 125%
for it to be close to the actual size:

100% --> 80%
? --> 100%

So, 100 * 100 / 80 = 125.

In other words, it would be easier if SoftLogik fixed that bug in the next
beta! Smile

I could not print at all to my Brother HL-1020 laser printer (immediate
crash after clicking on Print), but I successfully printed to an Epson
Stylus Color 400. I didn't test this thoroughly, but the printout appeared
to be fine. However, it was a very simple document, consisting of tiled
business cards.

Printing is a totally useless experience. Too small, badly offset. Does not
always print everything. Rotates lines of print but leaves the letters as
they were.
Yes Yes! YES Roll on the next Beta.

Thanks for the feedback.

The flashing scroll bar seems to flash in time with the cursor and
indicate that its active. For me if I click on the top bar of the window
it
stops.

With my HP Lacerate 4L I'm still getting just a blank page. I notice
that if the page I'm trying to print has a good deal of printing and
graphics the preparing page pause is longer but the printing box just
flashes before the printer starts to put out the blank page. On the same
machine using the UAE emulator and using the same page and printer
settings prints perfectly if rather slowly. Getting font sizes to match
is another story.

Where it causes me most trouble is when highlighting and moving an object
with the cursor keys. If the scroll bar starts flashing, the whole screen
moves and not the selected object. I can stop the scroll bar flashing but
it does not put the matter right. I have been unable to find out what
causes it and what to do about it. Only exiting the prog and re loading
works for me.

Steve

Hi Steven in PgsWin40r7 when the scroll bars are flashing they are
active and the whole window will move. I think that's what its meant to
do. When I click on the top of the object palette it changes to active
and whatever object I've selected moves according to the keys I hadn't
tried the keys before I usually use the mouse to shift the objects.
I gather like me you are using UAE and PgsAmi on the emulator and its
here that I can get the lockups like you describe, if I'm careless when
I'm editing the text. Then it will lock up fortunately I've mostly been
able to save before resetting. If that's where your having trouble try
the < Alt Tab > combination to put you back to windows and then go back
to the emulator using the WinUAE tab that should be on your bottom bar
this can sometimes free things up. NB: < Alt F4 > kills the emulator

Hope this helps Graeme

Hello Graeme,

Actually I was talking about the genuine windows PGS4. Usually I get no
problems using the emulator.
At the moment I am printing out via PDF and Acrobat. This seems reasonably
free from major problems.

It is a bug. They are taking input focus, which means that you can scroll
up and down (or left and right) with the arrows. Pressing any other key
does nothing. Pretty annoying if you are trying to type! Fixed in house
already!

>Also the fills do not work. Neither on the screen or the printer.

If you mean bitmap pattern fills, fixed in the next release.

I'm not sure if I follow this. I print all the time and the dimensions seem
proper to me. I drew a 4"x4" box and printed it. It measured 4"x4". Are you
saying if you do the same, it measures 3.2"x3.2"?

Works correctly to PDF files which print correct size. This happens with
both of my Canon printers. BJC620 and BJC6500.
Both with latest printer drivers from Canon. Multiplying the output by 125%
produces the correct size, but the seperate elements go haywire.
