Since I see you're still busy working at the Windows version, I'd like to
ask.

Have you had a chance to look at the placement of subscripts/superscripts in
PDF files?
If you haven't observed it yourself, I can send you a pair of files. i.e.
Windows pgs file and
corresponding pdf file.
