Hiho

Here my first impressions from PageStream 4.08 (Win).

- It did unzip with Winzip
- Installation stopped with error -113 (then manually copied
everything over rel .07)

Taskbar
PageStream seems to take no notice of Windows' taskbar when calcu-
lating the screen size. I have my taskbar configured to be always
visible, always on top (= Windows default?). When maximizing Page-
stream, it's window extends under the taskbar, and uses all the
theoretically available space. It should only extend to the size
of the desktop *minus* space of taskbar (compare with every other
windows applicaton).
I assume, this "taskbar-issue" is also responsible for Pagestream
remembering window positions incorrectly. After restarting PGS, all
its windows are moved a bit downward from the positions I saved pre-
viousely. The distance they are moved is about the height of the
taskbar.

Window Redraw
Window redraw, especially the palettes and dialog boxes, is still a
mess. (Windows 98SE, Matrox G400, 1152x864 - 32 Bit truecolor)

Prefs
Opening the prefs dialog box, switching through all the tabs (without
changing anything) and the clicking on "use" caused pagestream to
crash.

PDF
Color gradients (tried with "radial") seem not to be exported to PDF.
After exporting the same document to pdf twice, PGS crashed.

Printing
It actually prints *something* to my Epson Stylus Color 600 now.
The printout starts in the lower tight quarter of the page (A4).
Textcharacters are printed very thin - almost as little vertical
lines.
Maybe (I see only a small part of it because PGS startet printing in
the lower right corner) the radial gradient is a problem too.

So much so far...

Regards
Roland
