Hi Deron

On my Win98 I have Norton CrashGuard running - which doesn't really
keep PageStream from crashing ( Smile ) but stores detailed information
in a protocol. When trying to save a PDF a crash resultet in the
following protocol entry:

I can't do much with this info, I'm no programmer - but maybe it's
helpful to you? Shall I continue to post this entries from the
CrashGuard protocol?

Besides...
I played around with the "Save to PDF". So far I managed to create
simple pdf-documents (containing a simple text object with "Hello
World" or/and a JPEG picture) that could be displayed in Acrobat
Reader 4 without problems.
But I found a problem with a document (just one page, some text, a
circle with radial fill and a GIF picture) that was created with an
earlier version of PageStream for Windows. PageStream gives me some
weird font name, like "||*||" for all the text (was in Arial when the
document was created). Trying to save this document to PDF results in
a crash. Although when I manually select the text and set it back to
Arial, saving to PDF works (but the circle loses its radial fill and
just gets a solid fill).

So far my experience with pdf. Smile

Nope, doesn't do me any good. I suppose if I took the time to look into it
I could use that info, but actually knowning how to reproduce it is _much_
more useful!

Radial fills are not supported in our PDF export, so that is to be expected.

As fas as the font problem, I don't have a clue. Your welcome to email me
the document at support@softlogik.com and I'll take a look at it.

Does this mean "not implemented yet" or "not on the features list"?
In case of the latter I think you could drop the Save to PDF and
advise your customers to use Adobe Acrobat or some other stand alone
PDF creator because "kind of PDF export" isn't much of use...

I have done so.
Right now I saw my default font in PGS seems to be "||*||" too.
In Pagestream4.ini I have the line "SETFONT Helvetica" (some default?)
but have no Helvetica installed on my system.

Kind regards
