I need to put white lettered labels on to a photograph, without the
background
showing, (transparent background.) It should look as if the text was part
of the original print.

This is a picture of a cassette recorder, and the purpose is to label the
controls.
Any help appreciated.

Hi Frank,
What I do (Windows computer) is to simply, in text mode, select all
the text and then under 'Type/Line & Fill' select 'Fill/Filled' and
White color. Some fonts don't show up too well, so you may have to play
with it a bit. Just make sure the 'Line/Stroked' box is not checked.
