Hiya all:

A little Off-Topic from PageStream itself, but relevant, I would hope.

It’s finally about to come round again, that “my Windows beast is failing” feeling, and I’m having to think the “what do I have to buy that will work with PGS Win?”

I have an ageing Win XP machine that’s running out of steam to run the other Windows programs I need to run...

Yes, yes, I’m sure the Linux crowd would crave me to go that way, but there’s Windows-only stuff I need to run; equally I could dig the A1200 out the loft and see if it still runs PGS 3.?

OK, fantasies aside:

Thus I’m probably going to have to buy a new Windows computer, complete with Windows 7, likely Professional Version. And it is likely to be a 64-bit version.

I know Win 7 works well enough with PGS Win, as I was testing Win 7RC and PGS Win 5.0.4.46 on an old, spare laptop and all seemed well enough.

I’ve not used a 64-bit OS; although we have XP 64-bit on one at work, it constantly plays up (but that may be the rubbish brand that it is).

I have a couple of concerns about my older hardware such as a scanner but that may have to get Freecycled, especially as it’s not used much; printer should be fine (crosses fingers).

So:

Any guidance about Windows 7 64-Bit and PageStream would be most welcome from the erudite crowd here assembled, and thus thank you in advance.
