Has anyone seen the Find/Change Attributes feature documented in the online
help or the PDF manual? I can't seem to find any reference to it anywhere!

Before I scratch something down to start with, I thought I would see if I
just plain missed it! Otherwise, I've about got everything put back together!

Although I seem to keep walking into a brick wall with this..
There is obviously a need for a printed version of a manual as well and not
simply people printing html pages.
I currently have well over 90 persons enlisted to receive a full printed
manual and a pending order from a UK distributor.
Is there anything I can contribute to this all in regards to a possible full
and correct looking (on print) manual?

Would like your thoughts on this..

Thanks,
Charlot

In the Amiga files (which are not the same as the ones we downloaded for editing, but those are on another machine and Operating System, atm!),

There is a link and anchor in findchange.html, but no content.
There is no link in pgs.inttoc.edit.html to deal with the menu entry.

The links for find and change text and attributes are incorrectly given under Checking the Spelling instead of Finding and Changing Text in pgs.toc.text.html.

Roy

Charlot,

and I'm one of the people waiting for the hard copy version!

Deron has asked us to include meaningful text with the links rather than 'click here for more info' so that hard copy/PDF production would be easier.

He also talked about parseing the HTML which might mean he can import a lot of it into Pagestream/PDF/other format. Or it might mean I havn't a clue what he's on about! Smile

Thanks Roy,

Summing it all up..
I'd better cancel the whole service of printing the manual or at least
untill this project is finished and then, perhaps, take it from there.
I'll keep following this list and if there's something I can contribute, I
will.

Cheers,
Charlot

Charlot, I though you got the message a while back! As annouced when I
started this email list, the 4.1 manual was not coming along well and that
is why this list got started! The initial decision was to update the HTML
help with an eye towards building the manual from the help files. The HTML
PageStream user manual is well underway. I will be creating a print manual
from the HTML help files, with at least a decent table of contents, and
hopefully an index (no promise how good the initial index is!). It looks
like so far that probably 95% of the layout work will be done automatically
with a script, and hopefully it will be possible to generate the PageStream
document in any paper size (which should be of interest to many folks).

Anyway, that is a summary of what has been said so far Smile

Hi Deron,

Nope.. this is the first I've heard from you since around the time you've
mailed me the graphics for the manual.. That is why I posted the message to
the mailinglist..
But thanks for the update though, this is actually good news Wink
I'll send an update to everyone enlisted to printedmanual mailinglist to
keep them informed.
Again.. if I can contribute to this project, I will. (Graphics perhaps?)

Cheers,
Charlot

Hello Charlot,

I hope you don't give up entirely! I am one of those who would like a
proper printed manual.

In my view an HTML version is no substitute.

So, please keep pushing on this.

Many thanks,

Terence Casey

Yes! I'm still in for it, too.

If we are talking about a proper, professionel PRINTED manual I can have
laying next to my keyboard when working with PageStream and which I can
take along to read in the train and elsewhere, I surely want one too. HTML
is nice, but only so far.

As I have already stated on this homepage for a publishing house whose name escapes me at the moment.
