I remember some people having trouble with saving files with 4.0.8 for Widnoze. I didn't think much of it because I was getting good results on my office computer.
But at home on the PC, It has become a problem for me, now that printing is working and I'm trying to use the program more.
Every time I try to save a file (on top of an old one or as a new one) the program totally locks up. A Control-Alt-Delete can usually let me end the task and get back to windoze, but not always. I've tried 10 times now saving to various file names, both resaving files brought over from Amiga and saving newly created documents from the Windoze version. Locks the program every time.
This is with the older r8 version plus the update file with the new libraries installed. What I don't understand is why it's OK on one PC, but not the other.
Will the newest full version --rather than the library update-- solve this problem?
The hardware having the failures is an IBM Aptiva, K6/2 @350, 192 megs ram and Win98 1st edition.
On the printing problems: Canon BJdriver 6.5 has solved the problem with the USB Canon 2100 on the office computer, too. So I now seem to have printing working with both the Canon 8000 and 2100. ONly problem is the offset on the top and the left side.
Thanks for any help from anyone with the saving problem.
