Hi folks,

Hope everyone is having a terrific new year. As such, I hate to start it out by having a
"problem" with the website, so please accept my apologies for this in advance.

Here goes...

I logged onto the PgS website this evening to see if a new OSX 5.0 PRO alpha/beta had yet
made an appearance. Unfortunately, upon going into the PgS "Product Download" page, I
discovered that the "Macintosh OSX" category has completely vanished from my account
along with the two alpha download links.

My update for OSX 5.0 PRO has been in for a few years now, and the "Macintosh OSX"
category and alpha links have faithfully appeared on my download page... therefore their
sudden absence was quite noticeable. However, my "customer profile" page DOES still
show my entitlement to my 5.0 PRO copy...

In any event, I just thought I should bring this to your attention, since obviously I'm a bit
concerned here.

Additionally, although this problem might be specific to my account, there is also the
possibility that there is a problem with your database that could be affecting other
customers as well (possibly some sort of weird "year 2008" bug?).

Again, my apologies for bothering your with this issue, but I hope it is an easy one to fix.
So… many thanks for your help with this; I look forward to seeing my alpha DL listings
once again!

Regards to all,
Jeff Krispow

Hi Jeff,

No worries. They are older files and just yesterday I took them down in
anticipation of a better version. When? As soon as I think it makes
sense Wink The last alpha released was a nightmare in that I was
inundated with private emails about the same problems that were already
documented as known problems. So I'm trying to be a bit more methodical
in getting a version together that is less troublesome.

Stay tuned for more details...

Hi Deron,
I don't see why you should be surprised when, having taken people's
money months before, you give them a product which was unusable and
people then tell you it doesn't work.
Of course people will not be satisfied to read your readme file and
nod in sympathy. You took our money, you have given us nothing in
return. I have used Pagestream since 1.8 and I do not feel inclined to
be patient.

Ooh, sorry, we are all supposed to be grateful that you such a nice

No problem there. You don't need to be sympathetic nor apologize. I
presume that by your email you are interested in seeing this get
finished. I was simply explaining why some actions have been taken. Some
people want information, I tend to simply be interested in results. If
you are the same way, just delete my emails. They are for the people in
the first category.

Deron,

Is there anything that a loyal Pagestream Mac user can do to help
speed the release of 5.0 up? Money ? Grass Roots advertising ?
etc. I just attended Macworld 2008 and more than ever, believe
that the Mac is ready to take some serious market share. Mac users
really would get excited about a product with the same capabilities as
In Design for a fraction of the price!

Jason, Deron,

What I don't understand is why the Mac version is not getting MORE
attention. Mac users are becoming a hugh source of revenue for
software developers. Certainly more than Linux users. If PageStream
doesn't get out the for the Mac OS X soon, the void for a modestly
priced
professional DTP will unfortunately be filled. Case in point: iCalamus

FWIW the vast majority of MAc users have transitioned to OS X.
In fact Leopard already has a 20% market share within the Mac
community.
