Current test release

Considering the troubles I've had getting this release to compile
with the latest development tools and includes, plus the large
number of changes since 4.0, it is wise to keep the previous
release on your machine, and treat this version with caution. If
you are not prepared to deal with what could be a troubled first
release (or not, and I certainly hope now!), then please wait until
this release is graduated to production release status. In the
future, I will continue to provide production and test releases to
enable me to release fixes faster, but keep users aware of the
risks they take being the first on the block!
