It is very true that Apple is aggressive about sunsetting old technologies and this is why PageSteam 4 or 5 will not work on any M1 Mac running Big Sur. Still, I believe an upgraded 64-bit version would do well selling to customers that just want a no-frills powerful DTP package that does not have a monthly fee. I'm not sure how much programming is required to bring PS into modern macOS times but I would not mind buying it again. I already own the macOS version but can't use it since I don't have any machines running a version of OS X that's really old. I know lots of people hate monthly fees and still want to buy their software one time.
